VP Shettima Arrives in Benin City for Edo Governor’s Inauguration

Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Benin City, Edo State capital, for the inauguration of Governor-elect, Sen. Monday Okpebholo, and his deputy, Mr. Dennis Idahosa.

Persecondnews reviews that Shettima landed on the Benin City airport on Tuesday, marking the start of the official inauguration proceedings.

In September, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) emerged victorious within the Edo State governorship election.

According to the outcomes from 18 native authorities areas (LGAs) introduced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday, Okpebholo secured a complete of 291,667 votes.

His closest rival, Asue Ighodalo of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), garnered 247,655 votes.
