Despite the Black Satellites’ 2-1 loss to Nigeria’s Flying Eagles within the 2024 WAFU B U-20 Championship ultimate, Ghana’s Jerry Afriyie emerged with honours, clinching each the Most Valuable Player and Top Scorer awards.
Kparobo Arierhi’s two objectives sealed the win for the Flying Eagles, securing the championship title for Nigeria. However, the match organisers recognised Afriyie’s excellent efficiency, awarding him the MVP title together with the Top Scorer accolade after he netted 5 objectives all through the competitors.
Afriyie’s constant shows have set excessive expectations for the younger striker as he goals to duplicate his success when the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations kicks off in 2025.
