The Teachers and Educational Workers’ Union (TEWU) of TUC-Ghana says it is going to start an indefinite industrial motion, efficient Monday, November 18, if the federal government fails to resolve all points relating to its situations of service.
The Union expressed disappointment relating to the extended delay in concluding, signing, and implementing the Conditions of Service for the Ghana Education Service, the Ghana Library Authority, the Museums and Monuments Board, in addition to the Public Technical Universities and Public Universities, regardless of years of negotiations.
This was in a press release signed by King James Azortibah, the General Secretary of the TEWU, and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra.
“It is worrying that the issue regarding the various conditions of service of our members has been dragging for years,” the assertion stated.
The assertion stated that with the brand new tutorial 12 months underway, particularly the admission course of for first-year college students of Senior High Schools and numerous establishments, members of the Union can’t proceed to work below unsure situations of service.
“We hope there will be prompt responses from the stakeholders to prevent unnecessary disruptions in the education sector,” it stated.
